The Title
The Title is bestowed upon the strongest mage in existence. Only one may hold it at any given time, and countless mages dedicate their lives to becoming worthy of it.
The holder of The Title is determined through The Great Cycle, an all-out series of one-on-one battles in which users fight until only the strongest remains.
Though combat is absolute, death has no place within it.
A mage is considered defeated if they are removed from the arena by a spell or other means, are rendered incapable of continuing combat, become unable to act without outside influence, voluntarily surrender, or otherwise meet the conditions of defeat established by The Great Cycle.
To claim The Title is to be recognized as The Sovereign of the Arcane.
The Great Cycle
The Great Cycle is the event through which the holder of The Title is determined.
The Great Cycle has no known period of occurrence. No pattern, interval, or passage of time has ever been established.
The current Sovereign of the Arcane is required to participate.
Yet throughout history, it has appeared only when at least one magic user possesses the capability to defeat the current Sovereign.
Bearer of the First Flame
Name: Vaeloria
Weapon: None
Type: Fire Magic
Status: Alive
Unique spell: Emberheart
Appearance
A charismatic warrior who carries herself with the confidence of someone accustomed to standing at the forefront. She embodies fire not merely as destruction, but as passion, courage, hope, and the will to keep moving forward.
Visually, she has a striking, fiery presence-long red hair, intense golden-orange eyes, and a predominantly black-and-red outfit that gives her a mixture of elegance and combat readiness. She doesn't look like a distant, untouchable deity; she looks like someone who could walk onto a battlefield herself and lead from the front.
Story
Her overwhelming physical vitality made her a terrifying opponent on the battlefield. She could evade spells through sheer speed and reflex alone, a crucial advantage in an era when ordinary defensive magic had yet to be standardized. She became the first mage to claim The Title.
Sage of the Blade
Name: Theron
Weapon: The Arcblade
Type: All-type Magic (now known as The Five Forces)
Status: Alive
Unique spell: Confluence
Appearance
A muscular and powerfully built man whose physique bears the marks of years spent in combat. He wears heavy blue-and-black armor with a fully enclosed helmet.
Theron is reserved, disciplined, and deeply committed to his training.
Story
As centuries passed, fundamental knowledge of combat continued to advance, entering an era of standardized ordinary offensive and defensive magic. Magic-imbued weapons and armor became commonplace, allowing mages to focus and channel various spells without interruption while protecting themselves from opposing magic. This opened an entirely new realm of creativity in the development of combat gear.
Theron's ability to control All-Type Magic was extraordinary for his time. He effortlessly made his way through the bracket, eventually defeating Vaeloria and claiming The Title.
The Entwined Children
Names: The Empyrean and The Chthonic
Weapons: The Golden Staff and The Crescent Spear, respectively
Types: Light and Dark (now known as Dawn and Dusk)
Status: Alive and Inseparable

Appearance
The Empyrean is a tall, formidable mage in golden armor. Their appearance is dominated by warm, solar imagery, with radiant armor, glowing eyes, and an almost celestial glow surrounding them.
The Chthonic has a slender, lithe build and wears silvery armor reminiscent of moonlight against a winter night. Their pale hair and cool-toned appearance reinforce their connection to the moon.
Story
Came the ruthless yet graceful children of Dawn and Dusk. They were Inseparable, and thus neither could be defeated unless both fell in combat. Their combat prowess surpassed that of anyone known before them. Few could hope to challenge one, let alone both. Their new form of magic shattered the fundamental principles known at the time, rendering ordinary defensive magic completely useless.
However, the battle against Theron was far from easy. Despite Theron's cleverness and wit, they managed to trap him into making a fatal mistake, ultimately claiming The Title.
Sentinel of the Second Dawn
Name: Chronovar
Weapon: The Endless Grimoire
Type: Time Magic
Status: Missing
Unique spell: Resurrection
Appearance
A young and talented man who developed an interest in magic from an early age. Despite his unknown origins, he was known by many as a loving and caring person with a distinctly childish nature. He possessed great enthusiasm when encountering unfamiliar spells or abilities, often becoming completely absorbed in studying them.
Beneath his youthful curiosity, however, was a genuine concern for those under his protection, and he would willingly place himself in danger to ensure their safety.
Story
It had been millennia since the last Great Cycle. Communities had flourished across the continent, and the sharing of magic had become widespread. Then, without warning, the next Great Cycle was announced.
Chronovar had never even considered competing for The Title, but after the encouragement of his peers, he entered the Cycle. He advanced through the bracket with remarkable ease, eventually unveiling Resurrection, the greatest spell ever cast at the time. He went on to defeat The Empyrean and The Chthonic, ultimately claiming The Title.

She forms powerful attachments to the few people she cares about, but those same attachments can become sources of paranoia and instability.

The next who held The Title is ■■■■■ ■■■■■■■■■. Her origin and story has been wiped by THEM. She decimated the entire bracket and defeated Chronovar. However, Chronovar went missing after he lost the battle.
Prisoner of Authority
THEIR Name: He Who Controls All
THEIR Weapon: The Terminal
Type: Absolute Magic
Status: Alive and is The Sovereign of the Arcane
Unique spell: None
Appearance
An impeccably dressed figure with dark hair and unnaturally still eyes. THEIR expression rarely changes, giving THEM an almost lifeless calmness. THEIR attire is refined but severe, resembling the robes of a scholar or magistrate rather than a warrior. There is nothing visibly monstrous about THEM.
Quiet, methodical, and detached. THEY do not seek admiration, nor do THEY appear concerned with being feared. THEY simply believes that magic, by its nature, should have boundaries and that THEY alone possesses the authority to establish them.
Story
During The Fifth Great Cycle, immediately after ■■■■■ ■■■■■■■■■ held The Title, she was instantly defeated by THEM. THEY replaced ■■■■■ ■■■■■■■■■ and took The Title. THEY deleted all traces and memories of the details that occurs during the battle between ■■■■■ ■■■■■■■■■ and Chronovar. THEY then set forth to classify what spells are considered forbidden. THEY created rule sets that governs all of magic. No Great Cycle has occurred since then. THEY are truly The Sovereign of the Arcane.
